At First National Real Estate McColms, we are talking to owners and tenants on a daily basis. It’s not surprising that the most asked question from a tenant is, can they sign a longer lease.
Especially in QLD, many people from down south are looking for employment, family and lifestyle changes and not everyone wants to purchase a home, some are moving here to get out of the cities of Melbourne & Sydney.
No doubt there are many families looking for a rental property, whilst they look around for a home to buy, so we have a double-edged sword, for those that want to rent and those wanting to rent for 12 months or more whilst they look to purchase down the track.
With all these contributing factors coming into play, the forecast for the rental market will be especially competitive this year, if not more so than in 2021. Tenants are keen to secure tenancies with longer lease terms, some even from 12 months to two to three years. This will put more pressure on the rental market and rental rate will increase even more due to the demand.
We advise anyone that is looking to obtain a rental property is to contact our First National Property Management Team on (07) 4152 1122 and let us know exactly what you are after in regards to a rental property and your budget and your requirements.
